30 years of Stock Making and Custom Metal Work
We
have Myrtle and Maple gunstock blanks for sale that were cut over 30
years ago by the best in the business – Pete Gould of Gould’s
Myrtle wood out of Coquille, OR. They were cut from 250 year old trees
on Pete’s property and are properly laid out and Pete never used a
kiln as he thought it made the wood unfit for gunstocks, grips or
knife handles. Most blanks for 2pc rifle or shotgun
measure 18-1/2”x 8”x 2-5/8” thick and most of our Rifle blanks will
measure 35”x 7-1/2”x 2-1/5” to 3” thick. We do stock a limited
number of Mannlicher blanks, Claro, Bastogne, Yew, English and Maple
Flintlock blanks.
We also have Myrtle and Maple Blocks that Pete Gould cut, lacquered
and stamped, these are also 30+ years old. Most of the blocks are of
AAA quality as the pictures enclosed will show and measure
approximately 6” Long x 4” wide x 2-3/8” thick. Per block should yield
approximately (4) Forend Tips; (6 to10) bookend pistol grips, and (5
to 6) bookend knife blanks.
Wood of this quality demands a premium, as we all know how hard it is
to find good wood properly laid out and seasoned for 30+ years!
Thank You, John &Ted Sitek
